OOTD: Embracing autumn.

Trench coat - New Look // Cat dress - H&M // Ankle boots - New Look // Leather bag - Next
I don't know about you but I much prefer autumn / winter fashion, so as soon as it hit September, I couldn't wait to get my shop-on for the next few months' wardrobe staples. Whilst on a little shopping trip last week I picked up this gorgeous caramel trench coat from New Look. I absolutely love the faux leather trims that give the coat a luxe feel. It was very reasonably priced at £39.99 and I know I will get so much wear out of it. I decided to opt for a size bigger so that I can fit plenty of layers underneath. Oh how I love layering knitted jumpers and cosy cardigans. Winter, you really are my favourite.

I also picked up this cute black and white cat face dress from H&M. As much as I set out to purchase 'grown up' clothes, I can never resist adorable animal prints. The dress is made from quite a thick material, which I'm kind of hoping is to compensate for its short length? ;) Haha. It has a chunky exposed zip at the back and is perfect for casual-wear.

In case you are wondering where I am in these photos (as I'm not in my usual garden spot) I actually popped to Bolsover Castle at lunch time for a little walk with James. I'm lucky to live so close to so many lovely places so I am going to try and take my future outfit photos elsewhere to offer a little variety!

Have you picked up any key a/w pieces yet or are you still holding onto summer for as long as possible?

xo

  7. You look gorgeous!! I love your new coat, the leather trims are something that would sway me into buying it too. I very almost bought this cat dress!! There was a t-shirt as well, which I was so tempted by but ended up resisting. The dress looks so sweet on though! Love the location of these photos, all so green and wonderful. I've already started wearing my Winter woolies, it's been so cold here lately! I can't wait for the leaves to fall and Autumn to well and truly arrive :) xx
