Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Ole Flamingo! Review

It's not very often that I give into 'blogger hypes,' usually because my bank balance cannot afford to keep up, but I simply couldn't resist picking up one of the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks after reading so many rave reviews. I decided to edge a little out of my comfort zone and pick up one of the hot pink shades 'Ole Flamingo! and I'm so glad I did because it is such a beautiful, bright colour - perfect for summer.

I knew that these dried matte, so something I was a little concerned about was that it would show up any imperfections / bits of skin (nice) on my lips, but this simply wasn't the case. The product is really light on the lips and leaves them looking smooth and dare I say it, flawless!

Another thing I really liked about the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick is how easy they are to apply. The pointed nib makes for precise application and within just one coat you have an opaque finish. As I mentioned before, the liquid lipstick is really light on the lips, so much so that you'll probably forget you're wearing it. It's also VERY long lasting and yes the capslock is intentional. This liquid lipstick from Bourjois is so long lasting that it is actually difficult to remove from the lips at the end of the day. I've found the Body Shop eye and lip makeup remover that I featured in my May favourites seems to do a good job at tackling it though. But yes with this lipstick you can drink whatever you like, eat whatever you like and kiss whoever you like (ha!) and it'll remain firmly in place.

I think it's very reasonably priced at £8.99 especially for such a quality lip product. Rather than splurging on high end liquid lipsticks, I'd highly recommend trying this first as you could save yourself a small fortune! Whilst we're on the topic of saving money, Boots currently have an offer on where you can pick up two of the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks for £14.00! I'm eager to pick up hot pepper, an orange toned red which I think will also be a fabulous summer shade.

Have you tried the Bourjois Rouge Edition lipsticks? What did you think?
