Makeup Revolution Sweetheart Lipstick Review

Makeup Revolution Lipstick - Sweetheart - £1.00
If you read my Makeup Revolution haul post, you'll know that I picked up three of the £1.00 lipsticks to try, one of which was a sheer pink shade called Sweetheart. I decided to review this one first as it is easily my favourite shade out of the three I bought. Whilst I have become partial to a bold matte lip as of recently (thanks to the Bourjois rouge velvets) I am still more of a sheer / glossy girl at heart, so the sheerness of Sweetheart suits me down to a T. Whilst it doesn't add a lot of colour to the lips, it does gives them a slight tint and adds a pretty, glossy finish, perfect for light summer makeup looks.

Sorry there's no lip swatch - I've got a poorly face!
I think the thing I like most about Sweetheart, aside from the beautiful rosy pink tint, is it's buttery texture. It is has a very similar feel to the Revlon lip butters. Of course this means that it doesn't last long on the lips, but I don't mind having to re-apply it throughout the day.

The thing I like least about the Makeup Revolution lipsticks (in general) is the packaging. I find that the tops comes off quite easily and as you can see in the photo, the writing has already started to rub off. However LET'S GET REAL HERE, for £1.00 you can't really complain! On the upside, I do like the fact that the packaging features the lipstick shade on the top so you can see what colour you are picking out.

All in all the Sweetheart lipstick by Makeup Revolution gets a big thumbs up from me. It's become one of my go to everyday lipsticks and is easily as good as some of the pink toned Revlon lip butters I've tried in the past.

Have you tried any of the Makeup Revolution lipsticks? Which shades do you recommend?

  2. That looks like a beautiful color! I'm more like a pigmented lip product girl but, this would be on my try list next, it's just so pretty and natural xx

  4. Lovely review! I much prefer a lipstick with a texture like this that I re-apply throughout the day than one that instantly dries out my lips.
