For me this season is all about gorgeous plum and berry lipsticks and I think I have found a beautiful autumnal shade in Maybelline’s ‘Keep it Classy.’
After seeing the Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencils on a few of my favourite beauty blogs, I knew I had to try them out myself. There were a number of shades that caught my eye, but none stood out to me as much as ‘Keep it Classy.’ Although it looked more of a nudey pink shade under the store lights, I was pleasantly surprised to find that upon swatching, it was actually a gorgeous deep reddy-plum shade.
I was initially worried that the lip pencil would be really drying on the lips, but it was actually much the opposite! The Maybelline Color Drama lip pencils have a lovely creamy formula, allowing the product to glide onto the lips effortlessly. The product is also really lightweight on the lips, so you can't even feel it's there.
Wear time is pretty good, though for me it doesn’t last all day. Re-application is super easy though, thanks to the shape of the pencil that makes lining the lips and filling in the middle a doddle, even for clumsy folk like me.
Something else I really like about the Maybelline Color Drama lip pencils is the packaging. The black and white looks so chic and I love the fact it has the shade colour at the bottom, making it easy to find in your makeup bag.
At £4.99 the Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencils are a real steal and I’ll definitely be going back to pick up another shade. Some people are comparing them to the NARS lip pencils and whilst I cannot compare them having not tried the NARS offering myself, with a £12.00 price difference, I'll happily stick with Maybelline!
