A-Z Handmade Christmas Gift Guide Part 2

Thank you for your lovely response to part one of my A-Z Handmade Gift Guide! I reckon I'm going to have to cram more than one a week in as we are getting seriously close to Christmas - I definitely need to improve on my organisation skills for next year! New Years resolution perhaps? Anyway here is Part 2 of the gift guide I hope you enjoy the read and discover some wonderful gift ideas for Christmas.

Deer Necklace // Assorted Rings // Autumn Bird Necklace
is for Mibbi Design a handmade jewellery store full of whimsical and enchanting pieces. Owner Olivia creates all of the pieces herself in between studying a degree at University. Having been in that position myself I admire her dedication! Olivia likes to create vintage inspired pieces which are a beautiful handmade alternative to the mass produced gifts we regularly see on the high street. All of her pieces are affordably priced, with the majority being under £20 making them perfect for those looking for inexpensive, yet uniquely beautiful Christmas gifts. Mibbi Design's best sellers include the photo-transfer vintage lockets and the Harry Pottery themed Platform 9 ¾ necklace. Olivia has kindly offered Seek My Scribbles readers 10% off all orders at the Mibbi Design Etsy store using the code 'SCRIBBLES10'

Megan Jane's personal pick: This was a very hard choice but I eventually decided on the Curiosity Woodland Owl locket. It's absolutely stunning!

Megan Jane's personal pick: Become - Diary for finding your direction

Knit Stocking Advent Calendar // Chocolate Gift Set // Holiday Dinner Box

is for So Lucky Gifts, a gluten free gourmet food company. It seems that everyone knows at least one person on a gluten free diet, so I thought this would be a good one to include as it can often be hard to buy food & treated related gifts for them! Carey the owner of the company is a Celiac herself, along with her two daughters. She has taste tested many products and only sells the very best. All of the products are gift wrapped for free and include a handwritten note. Just a little note: So Lucky Gifts only ship to the US so this is one for my American girls (and boys)!

Megan Jane's personal pick: So it's tea time gift set

I've amused myself by doing this post today as I used to get really fed up of seeing 'my week in photos' blog posts, but I didn't announce it publicly as I knew as soon as I got my iPhone 4 I wouldn't be able to resist doing one myself. Smart move Megan. See I think I was really just jealous before because I had a crapberry and not an iPhone! I will be calling my posts #InstaGal after my friend Hannah said I could be the backup 'Insta Gal' last night when her phone went out of battery. Term coined!

Anyway...I was going to post about the outfit I wore last night when I went out for cocktails for my friend's birthday, but the photos were really blurry so I will be re-doing them. I wore a lovely black dress from New Look which has the prettiest embellished collar! I've got quite a few outfit posts lined up this week actually as I also have two dresses to show you from TK Maxx and my £12 Primark knit, which I'm currently snuggled in right now.

I hope everyone has had a lovely week! I'm hoping to get back into regularly blogging now. I just had a spell where I didn't really know what I wanted to post about and didn't have the time to really think too much about it as I've been super busy with work. I think we all have those times when we just need a little break so we can concentrate on 'real life.'

I'm going to post my second instalment of the A-Z Handmade Gift Guide early next week so keep an eye out!

PS The Megan Jane Jewellery Black Friday / Cyber Monday offer is on until Monday at 11:59pm. 25% off all jewellery orders using the code 'MJJTREAT'

Whimsical Doll House Jewellery

Apologies for another jewellery themed post but I am just not hardcore enough to go and stand out in the cold and pose for outfit photographs! Today I thought I would share the Doll House jewellery I have been making...

Doll House Saucer Studs £2.50

Doll House Tea Cup Earrings £3.99

Doll House Coffee Pot Necklace £4.99

I am really pleased with how the first few pieces in the doll house collection have turned out and I hope you love them too! I think the necklaces will look so pretty peeping out from under a collared blouse or dress. You could wear one piece to create a focal point, or match a necklace with a pair of studs. All of the pieces in the collection so far are priced under £5.00 making them perfect for stocking filler gifts this Christmas. Postage costs just £1.65 to UK addresses and £3.60 to everywhere else.

If anyone is in Nottingham this Saturday (17th) I will be at the Orange Tree pub selling my jewellery. There is a festival going on called OrangeFest  where there will be vintage themed stalls, acoustic acts, followed by DJs later in the evening. Entry is free and there are plenty of fabulous food and drinks offers to take advantage of. It would be lovely to see some friendly faces, so please come along! Stunning Statement Necklaces by Clare Hynes Jewellery

Statement Necklaces by Clare Hynes Jewellery
Sometimes it is the little things that make the biggest difference and I definitely think that is true when it comes to putting an outfit together. Jewellery and accessories have the ability to transform a whole outfit, giving it a fresh new look. Jewellery is something I am so passionate about (which I'm sure you all know by now) so when I was introduced to the work of Clare Hynes, I was so eager to share her wonderful designs here on Seek my Scribbles.

Jewellery designer Clare Hynes was born and raised in the UK but now spends most of her time creating beautiful jewellery in Northern China. She actually studied graphic design at Nottingham Trent University (the uni I studied Broadcast Journalism at) and then went onto work in magazine design, before finding her true calling in jewellery design.

I think you will agree with me when I say Clare's pieces are absolutely stunning. The statement necklaces featured above are so vibrant and full of colour that they will brighten up any outfit in your wardrobe. I absolutely love all of the different types of materials and beads that have been used. I think my favourite out of the three has to be the necklace on the right which features swarovski crystal pendants and beautiful fresh water pearls. I think this necklace would look really classy layered over a high neck black dress, with
your hair scraped up into a top knot, so all of the attention is on the piece itself.

The statement necklaces are priced at around £158 each, which is very reasonable considering the design and work which is put into making each necklace, a long with the wonderful materials that are used. If you have fallen in love with the necklaces, but can't afford to splash the cash, you could always pop one onto your Christmas list - perfect timing I know! Clare also has a beautiful collection of earrings on her website. I particularly love the Daisy Daisy earrings.

Pop over to the Clare Hynes Jewellery website to see more of her stunning pieces.

The Best Suit For Your Body Shape

A smart, crisp and elegant suit looks great on a woman and never fails to evoke an air of confidence and self-assurance. The good news is that unlike many items of clothing, suits can look good whatever a woman’s shape; the trick is matching the suit to your body.
Whilst some women can literally fit into any style of suit, others are more limited. Individual tailoring might  give you a suit which is perfectly moulded to your body but this will usually come with a considerable price tag. Those shopping with a more modest budget will need to make the most of different ranges on offer from reputable high street retailers – and thankfully the choice is extensive.

For the tall and slender, the traditional jacket and trouser suit looks great. Those of a larger build can also find the style perfect for hiding a multitude of sins, including large stomachs, big bottoms and chunky arms.
Ultimately, the cut of the suit is what will determine whether it looks good. For the larger woman, tailoring which accentuates assets and covers problem areas is best. Those on the shorter side looking for ways to appear taller should opt for a boot-cut trousers and match with a pair of heels. Opt for a small kitten heel which is easily covered by the trouser leg to give the illusion of height without revealing the secret to your lofty visage.

Ladies suits come in many different styles so women with a curvy physique can look great in a multitude of different styles. To really accentuate those curves, opt for a straight skirt and jacket that fit flatteringly around your best assets.
If you have large breasts, wearing a well-cut jacket that is fitted but not too tight will prove to be much more complimentary than a boxier style that is wide in the shoulders. Bigger women should also avoid suits with a pleated skirt as these only add unwanted bulk to your look.
For women who have boyish and petite figures trouser suits may drown you in excess material. For women who are not naturally endowed with curves, a tailored jacket which cinches at the waist is a great way to create a feminine silhouette.
Wearing a tight pencil skirt that is tapered snugly around the bottom and falls just above the knee will accentuate a slimmer frame. Pairing with a tightly fitted, cropped jacket will emphasise the waistline and create the allusion of curves.

Christmas Wishlist 1.

I'm hoping to start publishing my A-Z Handmade Gift Guide posts this week, but I still need more handmade companies and crafters to get involved, so please see this page and drop me an email! In the mean time I thought I would share some of the beauty products I have my
eye on & may be putting on my Christmas list this year...

Colour glide Lipstick - The Bodyshop // Crescent Moon Highlighter - Topshop // Viktor & Rolf Flower Bomb - Cheapsmells // Goddess Rocks - Me Me Me Cosmetics // Pink Pepper shower gel - Molton Brown
1. After receiving two Colour Glide lipsticks for my birthday (Soft Peony & Brilliant Red) I am eager to get my hands on a couple more! They glide on so smoothly and are so moisturising. The colour lasts really well and to me they taste of tea - yum!

2. I saw Lily (llymlrs) had reviewed this on her blog and it looked so lovely. I am in need of a new highlighter and would love to try this Topshop one. Pop over to Lily's blog for a full review.

3. I fell well and truly in love with this perfume after receiving a sample though the post the other week. It has such a sweet sugary smell and it will definitely be at the top of my Christmas list this year! So far I think it is priced lowest at Cheapsmells but if anyone finds it for less, please let me know.

4. When a company follows me on Twitter I always like to pop over to their website and have a look at their products. Usually I have a quick browse, but when Me Me Me Cosmetics followed me on Twitter, I found myself spending ages on their website in awe of their lovely beauty products! I particularly like these shimmery bronzing rocks. The colours are so pretty and pearly!

5. My boyfriend's mum and dad bought me a Molton Brown gift set not so long ago, made up with a range of Pink Pepper products. Not only is the colour of the gel so gorgeous, but the scent is so refreshing! It is my favourite ever shower gel and I will definitely be adding it to my Christmas list.

Are any of these bath and beauty products on your Christmas list?
