ASOS animal bowler bags

Horse / Rabbit / Owl
Whilst doing a little ASOS window shopping I came across these adorable bowler bags! I don't know what it is about animal embellishments and prints but they always catch my eye. The pink and blue pastel coloured bags are perfect for spring, however I think the burgundy owl bag is my favourite as it would go with so many different outfits. The bags all have long straps, as well as top handles, so you can carry them both ways and I love that the pull tassels give them a 'designer' sort of feel.

The owl bag would be a lovely addition to my ever growing collection of handbags. I am definitely not the sort of girl who could just have one expensive handbag -  I like to have a choice!

Which is your favourite out of the three?

It started with a whisper

Faux fur jacket - ASOS (Ebay) // Floral dress - TK Maxx // Nude heels - Primark // Flower clip - Crown and Glory
As soon as I set my eyes on this dress I knew it had to be mine -  and at £15.99 you can't really go wrong! I adore the colours featured in the print and how it almost looks like a watercolour painting. Although it is more of a spring / summer pattern, the material is actually quite thick so I thought I could definitely get away with wearing it now, especially with a faux fur jacket and black tights. I decided to finish my uber-girly outfit off with my Crown and Glory flower clip, which I think helps to bring out the pink tones in the dress. Add a cute clutch bag and I'd have the perfect formal-outing outfit!

Ps, Thank you to my brother Danny for taking my outfit photos - you are officially hired!

Hello Snow!

Hello my lovelies, it's been over a week since I last posted but I have been oh-so-busy with work. Luckily I managed to sneak a day to myself today which I spent making jewellery and walking my gorgeous dog Jazz. I snapped a few pictures on my iPhone of the snowy scenes along the trail near my house. It looked so magical. Jazz absolutely loves the snow and he looks so adorable when he gets it all over his nose!

Although I like to be busy I seem to be struggling to do everything I want to do, so I am trying to learn to organise my time better. I have so many ideas and projects in my head that I sometimes don't know where to start! I don't think I'm alone there though and I will definitely be making more of an effort to write my own blog posts in between writing for my clients :)

What's in my handbag

So this is what I carry around with me on a day out...
I have always enjoyed reading other blogger's 'What's in my handbag' posts so I thought I would do one myself. Compared to many people I don't really carry around a lot in my handbag. At the moment I like using my medium sized satchel bag I bought from Tesco a couple of months ago, so I only really carry around what I consider to be 'essentials.' The good thing about not having a big handbag is that I don't have to spend ages rummaging around looking for my phone, keys or that stray bobby pin!

Accessorize iPhone cover // Radley purse // Hot Straw // Apple head phones
I only got my iPhone 4 a couple of months ago but it quickly became my baby. I would literally feel lost without it and like most of the blogging community I am now an instagram-addict. Halp! Isn't my phone case adorable? It was one of the Christmas presents James bought me a long with the ever-so-gorgeous Radley purse. I love the colour of my purse and it is the perfect size for fitting all my cards and coins into.

You may be wondering what I am doing carry around a straw with me. Well recently I have started working for a company called Hot Straw UK who sell straws that are designed to use in hot drinks. I have become quickly attached to my Hot Straw as it stops me smearing my lipstick all over take out coffee cups when I'm out and about, and also prevents the coffee from spilling out of the little hole - which for a clumsy person like me, happens all the time.

Ted Baker Lip Crayon // Carmex Lip Balm // Natural Collection Concealer // Rimmel Face Powder // S&G Hand Food // Tangle Teezer
Looking at the image above you can tell that I don't really bother taking a lot of makeup out with me. I think it's because I am always worried about losing bits and bobs and when I'm seeing my friends I am usually having way too much fun to worry about whether I need to sort out my eye liner etc. I tend to just take out a lip crayon or  lip balm and a concealer or face powder. Unfortunately I have the sort of hair that knots as soon as I step out of the door, which is why I bought myself a Tangle Teezer. I absolutely love this little brush and it is perfect for popping into my handbag to take out with me. Bobby pins / bobbles also come in use for scary-hair days. I usually carry around a hand cream of some sort, with my current favourite being Soap & Glory's Hand Food. It smells divine and leaves your hands feeling soft (but not greasy).

If I am hopping on the bus somewhere I usually like to take my Kindle with me. I got it for my birthday and have found that I have been reading much more since then. As much as I like real books I simply have nowhere to store them. The final item I always try to carry in my handbag is my blog and jewellery business cards. You never know when you are going to bump into a possible networking contact!

So there we have it! I hope you have enjoyed my post. If you have done a 'What's in my handbag' post feel free to leave your link below so I can pop over and have a read. xo

Wardrobe Wants #1

Boohoo Jumper // New Look Knit // Pop Couture Weave Jumper
I want to introduce a few new features to Seek My Scribbles this year. One of which is 'Wardrobe Wants.' These will be little snippet posts that feature a few pieces I have my eye on. I am not planning on posting them on a specific day, just when I see something I like I'll post it!

I have to say I really surprised myself with the neon jumper! I am not normally one to go for neon colours and I don't even know if they suit me, but I am tempted to give this Boohoo jumper a try when I have a few pennies spare. The other two jumpers are less 'in your face' and would easily slide into my wardrobe full of dresses and pretty blouses. I was admiring the blue jumper in New Look the other day and still may go back for it since I have a voucher from Christmas. We'll see!

A new look for Megan Jane Jewellery

Red Love Heart Earrings // Pastel Crackle Crystal Necklace // Galaxy Bracelet // Love Birds Charm Bracelet

A new year means a new look for my jewellery website, Megan Jane Jewellery. I absolutely love the blue and gold colours together and the new more sophisticated font used for the logo. I have quite a lot of plans for my jewellery store this year. All being well it should be in two stores by the end of January and I would like to see it in other boutiques around the country! Feel free to get in touch if you could suggest somewhere suitable, or own a boutique / little store yourself.

At the moment I am busy making new pieces, which are a little different from some of the jewellery I have made in the past. I have listed four pieces today as a sneak peek of what is to come, so let me know what you think. I have been wanting to start a separate jewellery blog for a while now, so one of my aims over the next month is to get it up and running. I hope it is something jewellery fans like myself would be interested in. It won't just be promoting my jewellery, but other crafters and I want to do things like little tutorials.

I am planning on doing a little Megan Jane Jewellery giveaway here on Seek My Scribbles in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year my lovelies! I hope you had a fabulous time seeing in the new year, whether you were partying the night away or snuggled up in front of the television. This is a scheduled post as I knew I wouldn't feel much like blogging today after drinks at the pub with James and our best friends Hannah and Joe.

Anyway I know a lot of bloggers have done a round up post of all of their outfit posts, but I didn't want to include all of mine, so I just thought I would share a few! They aren't in any sort of order but the last two are my most recent.

2012 has gone so quickly for me. It started out a little crazy-hectic as I was busy making my documentary for uni and revising for my exams. I then graduated in the summer (one of my proudest moments ever) and have since moved back to my parents (with James) whilst I find my feet. Rather than go into work I have actually become self employed, writing for businesses of all kinds and running Megan Jane Jewellery as a side project. I didn't set myself any specific goals for 2012, other than to graduate (whoop!) but I have a lot of things I want to do in 2013, so I've bought a journal in hope that I can write them down and tick a few off every month.

I wish each and everyone of my followers and their families all the best for 2013 and hope you continue to enjoy all Seek My Scribbles has to offer.
