All that Jazz: Dog food and treats from Pet Supermarket

Polka Dot Bandana* - Pet Supermarket

Now you may have seen this little (or not so little) guy on my blog or twitter before, but I haven't formally introduced him to you, so I thought it was about time that I did! This is my gorgeous doggy Jazz. He is a nine year old German Shepherd Border Collie cross. I can't put into words how much we love him. He literally puts a smile on our faces each and every day. He is a real character, with so many little habits and traits that make him truly special and unique. I could literally talk about him all day.

Three facts about Jazz

1. His birthday is the 21st June - the longest day of the year.
2. He has to find his ball to put by his bowl before he will eat his dinner. This is not something we taught him - it's just something we noticed he does!
3. He gives really good hugs. If you crouch down he will lift one of his paws and put it round you to hug you back.

Recently the lovely people at Pet Supermarket sent Jazz a box full of goodies to review. I had placed the box on the kitchen worktop ready for when Jazz got back from holiday (with my mum and dad) and the first thing he did when he got in was jump up at the worktop to nose the box - he knew it was food for him!

Royal Canin Adult* // Hills Science Adult Light Chicken* // James Adult Duck*
Jazz was lucky to receive three boxes of high quality dog biscuits from Royal Canin, James and Hills, which are some of the market's leading brands. Jazz is usually a little picky when it comes to dog biscuits, but I am pleased to say that he actually loved all three of the flavours so much that we are going to order some more so that he can have a change from his usual brand of Bakers. The brands offer all different types of flavours and specify the type or size of the dog that they are intended for. Royal Canin and Hills also offer special dietary food too.

Jazz also received a packet of Bakers 'Allsorts' dog treats which contain vitamins, protein and lots of goodness. They come in a variety of cute shapes and tasty flavours (can't say I've tried them, but Jazz sure loves them). On the back of the packet they offer you guidance on how many treats to give your dog a day, depending on their size. We usually takes a couple of treats with us when we are walking Jazz and then he has a few throughout the day.

The final gift was the lovely polka dot bandana which you can see Jazz modelling in the picture at the top of this post. He loved his bandana and was happy to sit down and have his picture taken. He has a huge grin on his face because we were telling him how smart he looked! Such a babe.

A huge thank you to Pet Supermarket for all of the lovely dog food and treats they sent Jazz. He is a very lucky pup! If you would also like to treat your pet to some new food from the Pet Supermarket website, then be sure to use this exclusive 15% off discount code 'BLOG15.' It expires midnight on the 28th August 2013.

Vivo Dreamy eye shadow palette review with swatches

Starry, Clay, Neutral, Eternity, Night, Dreamy, Luxe, Dove, Stone, Tease, Sand, Twinkle

The Vivo 'Dreamy' eye shadow palette is what I would describe as the perfect neutrals palette for summer. As you can see from the image, the palette mostly contains shimmery shades, but they have thrown a couple of matte shades in too. I much prefer shimmery eye shadows, especially in gold, bronze and copper, so this palette really is perfect for me.

From the swatches you will be able to tell that most of the eye shadows are very pigmented, apart from sand, which is a dusty cream colour and my least favourite out of the twelve. 'Neutral' is a gorgeous shimmery white colour which is perfect for highlighting the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes. I also like using 'Night' as an alternative to liquid eye liner.

All of the eye shadows are really wearable colours and ideal for those who share my love for neutrals. Vivo are currently selling this palette on their website for just £1.99, though it's usual price is just £3.99, definitely a bargain for such a fantastic quality palette! They also have another neutrals palette called 'Unprotected' which I have reviewed here.

Have you tried any products from Vivo? Do you like the look of this neutrals palette?

Oh and if you fancy a chance at winning Vivo's 'Unprotected' palette, along with some handmade jewellery goodies, go enter my giveaway!

The 90s tag

I saw this tag on a few blogs and thought I'd have a go at doing it myself since I was born in 1990!

1.             Favourite Toys?
Beanie Babies, I had so many! I used to play ‘schools’ with them and ‘Pinky’ flamingo always used to be one of the naughty ones, along with ‘Sly’ the fox. I know what you’re all thinking right now… ‘weirdo.'

2.             Favourite Advert's?
Nothing really comes to mind…though I was always fascinated by the ‘baby all gone’ doll advert. Where did the cherries go?! (…in the spoon, I know I know!)

3.             N'sync or Backstreet Boys?
Gonna have to go with N’sync but I wasn’t really a fan of boy bands until Blue came along.

4.             Weirdest Fashion Trend?
Those army pants / cargo pants / combat trousers whatever you want to call them that had Velcro strips on them. Please say you remember them too? They weren’t tassles they were like strips of the same material as the trousers that sort of just hung off the trousers? I can’t find any pictures online :(

5.             Favourite Collectable?
Tough one! I collected beanie babies, Pokémon cards and these miniature dogs that you used to get in Kellogg’s boxes. Do they still put toys in cereal boxes?

6.             Favourite Beanie Baby?
That’s way too hard! I’m going to say ‘Tuffy’ the dog though. I remember seeing him on the floor in a shop in Arnold and I felt sorry for him. I picked him up and spent my pocket money on him. True love right there.

7.             How Many Tamagotchi's Did You Go Through?
I had two! My first was a dinosaur and my second one was a cat. I still remember my grandma having to tell me that my dinosaur had died under her watch while I was at school.

8.             Favourite Game System and Game?
I used to enjoy playing on my dad’s Mega Drive. I didn’t really know what I was doing but I enjoyed it none the less. I remember an American football game, a space invader type game and then some creepy mysterious game where you had to buy potions.

9.   Favourite Disney Movie?
I wish I could say it was one of the princess ones but it wasn’t. I loved Robin Hood and The Aristocats.

10.          Favourite Music Artist?
The Spice Girls

11.          Favourite Game?
Ker Plunk or Buckaroo

12.          Favourite McDonald's Happy Meal Toy?
The mini beanie babies

13.          Favourite Book?
Jacqueline Wilson books – Girls in Love, The Suitcase Kid, The Illustrated Mum, Double Act

14.          Favourite Clothing Store?
My mum bought my clothes from me and I think a lot of them were from Next.

15.          Favourite TV Shows?
Sabrina the teenage witch, Arthur, Rugrats, The Queen’s nose,  Pokémon, Sailor Moon, SMTV Live, Pepper Ann, Recess, Brace Face, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, The Weekenders

What can you remember from the 90s? If you have done the tag yourself feel free to leave your link in the comments below :) xo

The 'Megan Jane' dress

If you follow me on twitter, you may have seen a few tweets last week about a dress that has been named after me. Yes the lovely team at Ollie May chose my name for their beautiful hot pink peplum dress. Basically all you had to do was tweet your name to them and out of all the people that entered, mine was chosen, which I think is pretty awesome. The Megan Jane dress is absolutely gorgeous, I love the striking feminine colour and the pretty peplum detail.

Whilst having a little browse on the Ollie May website I came across two other dress that I really liked. First up was the 'Hello Sailor' dress which is right up my street. I would team this with a pair of bright orangey red heels and wear a similar shade of lipstick to give it a pop of colour. The dress on the far right is so dreamy and girly. I would accessorise it with gold dainty jewellery and a flower hair clip.

Have you bought anything from Ollie May before? What are you loving from their website? Be sure to let me know in the comments below! xo

Mina outfit post and a little giveaway

Black lace crop top - Primark // Peplum floral skirt - Mina* // Nude platform heels - Primark // Sunglasses - Zara

Can you believe it is still sunny and hot here in Britain?! I certainly can't! Not that I'm complaining because I'm absolutely loving the sunshine. I just hope it lasts for my holiday in Woolacombe next week. The outfit featured above is a little out of my comfort zone, but I'm actually quite liking it! The floral peplum skirt from Mina is absolutely stunning. I love the orangey red colour and you all know I am a sucker for a good floral print! The peplum frill adds to the shape of the skirt, giving it that oh-so-feminine edge. I love it.

I decided to be brave and team it with this little crop top I picked up from Primark last week. I never thought I'd ever wear a crop top but I think they look really lovely paired with high waisted skirts. They only show 'the good bits' if you know what I mean haha! Providing the lovely weather sticks around I'll definitely be wearing this outfit on my holiday for drinks out one evening.

I have been meaning to do a little giveaway for a while to say thank you to my lovely followers and regular 'commenters' so here it is! I hope you like the prizes :)

I made the jewellery myself (you can visit my store here) and the eyeshadow palette is one of my current favourites so I thought it'd be nice thing to include. You can see my review on it here.

Holiday Essentials: Primark hanging travel bag

If you hadn't read the title of this post, you would probably have mistaken this for one of Cath Kidston's makeup bags right? Well this lovely 'wipe-clean' toiletries bag is actually from Primark and cost just £4.00!

I picked it up along with a few (well slightly more than a few) other bits and bobs from Primark as I thought it would be perfect to take on my holiday next Sunday. What I love about this travel bag is that it folds out to reveal four compartments inside. There are three clear 'mini bag' compartments and one hidden zipped compartment, giving you plenty of room to keep all of your essential bits and bobs safe.

What makes the bag even better is that it has a hook at the top so you can hang it up in your hotel room or apartment. The fact that the compartments are clear makes it easy to spot the items you need, preventing the need to rummage blindly. The middle compartment can actually be pulled off, revealing a hidden zipped compartment underneath. This is particularly useful if you want to pop a few 'top up' makeup essentials into your handbag to take out with you.

For £4.00 I really don't think you can go wrong with this bag. Not only is it practical for holidays, but it has such a cute print on the outside. If this had been from Cath Kidson I reckon it would have been at least £15.00 if not more!

Will you be picking up one of these toiletry bags for your holiday?

Find your dream dress at Little Black Dress

The 'LBD' is a wardrobe staple and every girl should own at least one. As much as I love colour, there's nothing quite like finding a little black dress that fits like a dream, so you can imagine my delight when I came across the aptly named ‘Little Black Dress’ website.
Loxton Dress // Wendy Dress // Hedonia Cheska Dress

About Little Black Dress

If you are looking for unique and beautiful dresses as well as shoes, bags and jewellery to accessorise your outfits, then Little Black Dress is the place to go. What I like about the website is that it has such a wide range of fashion items from designer brands, high street stores and independent fashion labels. There really is something to suit all budgets! Little Black Dress offer free delivery to UK addresses and also ship internationally.

Finding the perfect LBD

Having looked through the collection myself, I can tell you that you won’t find it hard to find the perfect black dresses from LittleBlackDress.co.uk. They have everything from smart shift dresses, to cute peplum minis and couture evening gowns. The three dresses featured above were my favourites out of what I considered to be the ‘going out’ dresses. The Wendy Dress really stood out to me as it looked so classy with the pearl encrusted neckline. The LBD team suggest wearing it with an updo and smoky eye makeup, which I agree would be oh-so-perfect.

Whilst browsing I found myself falling completely in love with one particular dress. I think the Forever Unique Kassidy Dress has to be one of the most perfect black dresses I have ever seen. It would be ideal for a glamorous masquerade ball as it is romantic, yet vampy and a little risqué at the same time. Go and search for it on the website – you know you want to!

Whether you are looking for a black dress to wear to your graduation, something casual and comfy for day-wear or a the perfect dress for a night out in town this summer, you are sure to find something you love from the Little Black Dress website.

Lush Buffy body butter review

Buffy - Lush £5.95 for 90g
Lush describe ‘Buffy’ as a body butter, but your typical body butter it is not. See when I think of body butters, I picture thick ‘buttery’ creams in pots that you apply after a bath or shower. Buffy is actually a solid body butter that is intended to be used in the bath or shower. Lush always like to change things up a little!

How to use Buffy
Whereas some of Lush’s body butters simply moisturise the skin, Buffy is a two in one product as it doubles up as a fantastic exfoliator. Basically whilst you are in the shower you hold it under the water for a couple of seconds and then use it to polish away dead skin in gentle circular motions. I recommend turning the shower water off whilst you are using the product as you do not want it to get too wet or you may find it melts away too quickly. Buffy can also be used in the bath however I am a little funny about getting ‘bits’ in my bath…not so comfortable!

Close up of the Buffy bar

Exfoliating qualities
What I like about Buffy is that you can tell it is doing its job almost immediately. I really feel like the ground rice, ground almonds and ground aduki beans are gently exfoliating my skin, without being too rough or irritating.

Moisturising qualities
Buffy is also great for moisturising the skin and some may even find it too moisturising…if that’s possible?! What I mean by this is that you almost get a layer of oil on your skin, which some people may not like. To combat this you just need to make sure you rinse your whole body after using the product and pat your skin gently to dry. I suffer from dry skin on my arms and legs sometimes, so I personally like how moisturising the product is. By the end of the day, my skin still feels soft and smooth which is much better than dry and itchy. The moisturising ingredients used in the product are cocoa butter, shea butter and lavender oil.

Final thoughts...
I have now completely used up my Buffy body butter but I have had it since March! Buffy is not something I would use every day, but I think it is nice to use it once every week to really polish and perfect the skin. You can buy tins for Lush’s body butters to preserve them, but I just placed mine on the side of the bath on a little floral saucer (worked just as well). It costs £5.95 for a 90g bar which I think is very reasonable, especially considering how long the product lasts. Although I am not rushing out to purchase another Buffy bar now that I have finished mine, I will be picking it up next time I find myself in Lush. It is a shower time product that is definitely worth owning.

Dress Spy - taking the fashion world by storm!

You know when you find yourself literally spending hours browsing a website? Well that's what I've been doing ever since I was introduced to Dress Spy. This fantastic fashion website is the perfect place to keep up to date with all of the latest fashion trends and have a go at creating your own moodboards!

One of the many great things about Dress Spy is it's community spirit. Once you have created your moodboards in the 'What Can I Wear' section, you can share them with your friends, comment on other looks and vote for your favourites. If you are lucky your looks may be rated by the fashion buyers, experts and bloggers browsing the site too! You will also have the chance to receive discount codes from brands like Mango and Miss Selfridge as well as enter your looks into monthly competitions to win fantastic prizes.

Dress Spy is also an awesome place to find inspiration for your own outfits. For example if you are looking for an outfit for a wedding, you could type in 'wedding guest' into the 'What Can I Wear' search box and it will bring up a selection of relevant moodboards created by both users and experts. Here are a few moodboards I have created so far...

1. Oh so retro!

This is probably my favourite out of all the looks I created on the Dress Spy website. I am a sucker for a cute sixties shift dress, especially with a peter pan collar. I thought I would include a pair of retro-inspired white heels for a dressed up look and a cute pair of brogues for day wear. Style this outfit with a beehive hair-do, a slick of red lipstick and you are good to go!

2. Festival Fashion

If you are heading to a music festival this summer, then I should imagine you will be packing denim shorts and cute vest tops in your rucksack right? I absolutely love the aztec print vest top featured in my mood board. The fringed shoulder bag also stood out as a winner. The sandals are super gorgeous, though if you are attending a festival in Britain you may need to swap these for a pair of wellies. I added the face wipes as a little extra as it's very unlikely that you are going to take your expensive hot cloth cleanser to a muddy field! They are definitely a festival-goers best friend for removing makeup and freshening up.

3. Wedding Guest

Although I have never attended a wedding myself, this is the sort of outfit that I would wear! I think the blue dress is so, so beautiful and definitely what my friends would call a 'Megan Dress.' For wedding guest attire, I think the 'less is more' rule applies. That is why I would simply team the dress with a pair of nude heels and a matching clutch bag. I think the headband is a great alternative to wearing a hat or fascinator, especially for younger girls. In terms of makeup, I'm thinking neutral eye shadow and peachy cheeks. I would finish the look off with a pair of naturalites falsies from Eylure to thicken my already fairly long eyelashes.

What do you think of my looks? If you fancy trying Dress Spy for yourself sign up for free at www.dressspy.com - I'll see you there!

Doll house themed jewellery

Hands up if you are enjoying the beautiful weather here in Britain? I know I am! It is very rare for the sun to make an appearance so I have been making the most of it by moving my office to the summer house and making jewellery in the garden. I made the doll house tea set pieces photographed above yesterday afternoon. Out of all the jewellery items I make, I think the doll house jewellery pieces have become a firm favourite of mine. I have just popped them over on my shop website (shameful plug) if anyone does want to treat themselves!

I am still complimenting doing another jewellery tutorial soon, maybe even in video format, though I can't promise I'll talk to the camera! What do you think? Let me know if you would like to see one.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday afternoon.

June Favourites

I always really enjoy watching 'monthly favourites' videos on Youtube, but as I am not brave enough to get in front of the camera I thought I would do my own written version. I am going to keep it to just five things so the posts aren't too long, but I will change the categories every month depending on what I've been loving!

Last month I couldn't get enough of Models Own 'Fuzzy Peach' nail polish. I have owned this polish for a little while, but I have only just realised how amazing it is. The colour is a gorgeous creamy orange that is bright, but not quite neon. I find it so wearable with all sorts of outfits. I have worn it pretty much all month (obviously I have repainted my nails a number of times) with the exception of a few days where I wore Revlon Red. Fuzzy Peach is the perfect shade for summer and will look gorgeous with a slight tan!

I was quite late to the party with the Maybelline 24 Hr Colour Tattoo for eyes, but I am now well and truly in love with 'On and On Bronze.' The metallic bronze shade looks gorgeous on its own, but I often apply one of the bronze or gold shades from the Vivo Unprotected palette over the top to make my eyes stand out more. I love the light creamy formula and how it doesn't budge all day! I have also purchased Permanent Taupe and have my eye on Eternal Gold and Eternal Pink.

If it wasn't for Fee from Makeup Savvy, I wouldn't have known about Tony Moly and their adorable products. After seeing one of Fee's blog posts on the Tony Moly Gloss Bars I headed straight to eBay to purchase one for myself. I decided to go for one of the tinted gloss bars, but you can also purchase ones that are just scented. The gloss bar I chose is orange tinted, but I find if apply it  a few times it goes more of a bright pinky shade on my lips. It smells of tangerines and is so moisturising, without being greasy. I usually apply if after I have used by Lush bubblegum lip scrub. If I'm going out I'll often apply a lipstick over the top, but I'm also happy wearing it on its own. I will definitely be purchasing more Tony Moly products, I simply can't resist the adorable packaging!

Favourite TV show: House (Series 1 - 6)

My boyfriend and I borrowed my dad's box set of House (series one to six) and we are well and truly hooked. I'm gutted that I only have two series left to watch (going out to buy season seven and eight today). If you enjoy medical dramas and didn't watch House when it was originally on television then you definitely need to give it a go! It's actually very funny in parts but then some episodes are EXTREMELY sad - a very good mix all in all! It's nearly rivalled my love for Grey's Anatomy...and I have a lot of love for Grey's.

Favourite song: Icona Pop - I love it
I think this one of those songs, where you either REALLY love it, or absolutely hate it. I first heard it on Vampire Diaries...or Glee I can't remember which. It's very simple, there aren't many words, but there's something about it that just makes me feel happy when I listen to it.

What were your favourite things in June?

PS, Happy  4th July to my American followers - I hope you have a wonderful day!

ScareDoo Hair Brush Review

Over the past week I have been trying out a brand new hair brush called the Scaredoo! The hair brush has only just been launched and is a fantastic two-in-one tool for removing knots and styling. The first thing you have probably noticed is that it looks very similar to the Tangle Teezer, which has been oh-so-popular in the blogosphere. Although it does look very similar, the Scaredoo does offer the added benefit of having a flip and finish feature. Once you have finished detangling your hair you can simply pull the middle out, flip it over and click it into place, using the second side to style your hair. Have a quick look at the little demo video I made below to see how the flip and finish feature works....
Scaredoo Paddle Brush*

Scaredoo Detangling Brush
I have found that the detangling side is excellent for removing knots from my hair, without feeling like it is pulling or causing any damage. Although I have very fine hair, I have quite a lot of it and find that it knots so easily. Sometimes I think you only have to look at it and a knot appears, but I have found that the Scaredoo glides through my hair and remove knots pain-free! It is great for using after washing your hair, or if you have been blown about by the wind and rain outside.

Like the Tangle Teezer (which I also own), the Scaredoo has a very ergonomic design that fits into the palm of your hand. Although some people prefer brushes with handles, I actually like the shape of the brush and think it is fantastic for popping in your handbag when you go out. I have even managed to fit it in my night out bags, showing just how practical it is. It also has an anti-slip texture to prevent it from flying out of your hand when you are brushing your hair.

The Scaredoo is currently available in five different colour combinations: Pink, Blue, Black, Yellow and Purple. I chose the bright sunshine yellow as I thought it would make it easier to spot when I'm looking for it in my handbag! The brush retails at £10.99 and can be purchased directly from the Scaredoo website. The price is very similar to that of the Tangle Teezer, which some may find a little pricey, but for a high quality hair brush with dentangling AND styling benefits, I think it is pretty reasonable. Scaredoo also donate £1.00 of every hairbrush sale to the Pink Ribbon Foundation, which is a great cause to support.

Overall I am really impressed with the Scaredoo brush. My Tangle Teezer was looking a little tatty, but rather than replace it, I am going to stick to using my Scaredoo! It works equally as well and also looks super cute. I wonder if it'll be the next big blogger craze? Who knows!

Let me know if you have tried the Scaredoo and what you think of it in the comments below :)
