L'Oréal Rouge Caresse Lipstick review - Dating Coral

Despite the popularity of Revlon lip butters, I never really got into them myself. I bought one, a pink shade called cupcake, which ended up being totally the wrong colour for me and then went on to melt when I accidentally left it in the sun (whoops). Over the last couple of years pretty much every high street brand has bought out their own version of the lip butter - a cross between a lipstick and a lip balm. However unlike many other bloggers, I haven't been all that excited about them. Having said that, when I saw the L'Oréal Rouge Caresse  lipstick something made me want to pick one up.

I would describe the L'Oréal Rouge Caresse lipsticks as being a lot lighter than the Revlon lip butters. They are extremely moisturising and leave your lips looking slightly glossy. In terms of colour, I'd say they are fairly sheer, however you can build the colour up if you wish to. I have found that my L'Oréal Rouge Caresse lipstick isn't particularly long lasting, but it is extremely easy to reapply (without the need for a mirror) so that doesn't bother me too much.

Dating Coral is a lovely orangey pink shade, which I think would suit most complexions. If you apply it sheerly, you will not notice the colour tint too much, however after a few swipes across the lips you will see it start to build up and develop. I love wearing Dating Coral with a gold shimmery eye look when I go out, but it also works as an every day lipstick worn with minimal eye and face makeup.

This lip product is currently one of my favourites as I think it's perfect for winter when my lips could do with a little extra moisture. I'm definitely going to head to Boots and pick up a couple more shades, I already have my eye on 'Sweet Berry.'

The L'Oréal Caresse lipsticks are priced £7.99 and are available from Boots.

Halloween Doll dress up

Ok so I know I'm a little premature with this Halloween-themed post, but it's because I celebrated Halloween early this year, at Rock City in Nottingham. Me and my two friends, Liz and Emmy, all thought we would go for a creepy doll / dead girl look and I think we did pretty well! The Halloween doll look was really easy to achieve (once we found a white face paint that actually worked). We simply cut up our dresses / skirts, splattered ourselves with fake blood, painted our faces white and darkened our eyes with lots and lots of black eye shadow! We also added cute little matching black headbands and I went a little wild with my hair. We did have to have a little giggle at the fact I looked quite similar to my sixteen year old emo-girl self hahaha.

Rock City was packed full of people with rather interesting costumes. One of my favourite costumes of the night was the wolf out of little red riding hood. I wish I had taken a picture of the person so I could put it on here. They looked awesome!

All in all it was a really good night, despite the forty-or-so minute queue to get in. I had lots of fun dressing up as a Halloween doll and love the fact that when it's Halloween you don't have to worry about how you look half way through the night or whether your tights have laddered!

Are you dressing up for Halloween this year? xo

Bomb Cosmetics Chocolate Bath Melts review

My idea of a relaxing bath time involves a scented candle, my favourite music and a luxury bath bomb, so when Find Me a Gift kindly sent me the Bomb Cosmetics chocolate bath melt set* to review, I was more than happy to put the products to the test!

The chocolate bath melt set contains six gorgeous little bath melts which are designed to look like chocolates and cakes. They are sweetly scented, each with a different flavour such as chocolate buttercup, mocha, chocolate orange and vanilla. I think presentation-wise you will have to agree that they are right on point. What woman wouldn’t want to receive this lovely selection of mini melts? The bath melts arrive packaged in a small recyclable white box, tied with a chocolate brown ribbon, making them ideal to give as a gift to someone special.

Although the bath melts almost looked too good to use, I eventually caved! All you have to do is drop one into your bath and watch it fizz away into the water. As the bath melt dissolves you are left with a delicious chocolatey scented bathroom and a bath full of moisturising essential oils, perfect for pampering your skin.

The six bath melts are handmade and contain essential oils including shea butter and cocoa butter, which are both known for their moisturising qualities. The bath melts also contain aromatherapy oils which are ideal for relaxing your body and mind.

The essential oils definitely worked wonders on my skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. What I like about these bath bombs is that they don't leave a thick residue on your skin or contain anything that is going to stick to you, like glitter. They simply leave a light chocolatey scent on the skin, which is not overpowering in the slightest.

Bonus points
Before receiving the bath melts from Find Me a Gift, I had never actually heard of Bomb Cosmetics, however after testing out their products I can now say I am definitely a fan! Aside from producing beautiful-looking, high quality products, they are also against animal testing (giving them mega bonus points from me) stating on their website ‘we believe that neither animals, humans, nor the environment should suffer for our luxuries.’ All of their products are completely made by hand and they use natural ingredients wherever possible.

You can currently purchase the Bomb Cosmetics chocolate bath melt set from the Find Me a Gift website for just £7.99. I think £7.99 for six bath melts is such a good price, especially when you consider that many other companies charge around £3.00 per bath bomb!

My verdict
All in all I have to say I am completely taken by this bath set! I love the fact that the bath melts are handmade and natural, plus they look and smell like chocolates – how was I ever not going to like them?! Whether you are looking for the perfect gift for someone special or simply fancy treating yourself to a little present, the Bomb Cosmetics chocolate bath melts set from Find Me a Gift will make the perfect choice!

Find Me a Gift are currently getting ready for Christmas by stocking up on a fabulous range of gifts and stocking fillers. They also kindly sent me a few other little products to share with you, but I have decided to save them for a stocking filler series I am planning for next month, so keep an eye out!

What do you think of the Bomb Cosmetics chocolate bath melts set? Is it something you would buy for someone / like to receive as a gift?

New jewellery finds

Pearl bracelets - Primark (£1.00) // Two midi rings - River Island (£2.00) // Initial necklace - Tesco (£4.00) // Fresh water pearl earrings - Handmade (£10.00)
Vintage style mini suitcase - T K Maxx (£3.99)

Statement necklace - New Look (£7.99)
Today I thought I'd show you some of my latest jewellery finds! Although I do make jewellery myself, I still love picking up affordable pieces on the high street. All of these pieces are £10.00 and under - I definitely managed to pick up some bargains!

Pearl bracelets
The Primark pearls are so adorable and for £1.00 you can't go wrong. You get ten beaded bracelets, all of which compliment each other. In the day I tend to just wear a couple, but if I'm going out I'll put a good few on my wrist, if not all ten!

Midi rings
I've wanted a midi ring for so long but I always find that shops run out of the small sizes quickly or they charge ridiculous amounts for a piece of metal. However when I popped into the River Island store in Nottingham I found these cute midi rings for just £2.00 and they fit perfectly.

Initial necklace
The initial necklace is one of my most-worn pieces. Funnily enough it actually had a gold colour to it when I first purchased it, but it soon faded to the silver colour it is now. I love simple, cute jewellery like this. You can still pick these up in Tesco. I found them buy the clothing section.

Handmade heart earrings
My fresh water pearl earrings are my absolute favourites. I picked them up in a little boutique (which I can't remember the name of) when I visited Barnstaple during the summer. They have little silver gem studs with fresh water pearl heart beads that drop down. They're adorable, I love them.

Statement necklace
I picked up this gorgeous statement necklace spontaneously on a quick run to New Look. I was going out that weekend and wanted a way of making my dress look a little more, well, dressy! It worked a treat. I love that it has a slight rose gold tint to it.

Vintage style mini suitcase
I've got a confession to make...I'm a little addicted to buying vintage style boxes from T K Maxx. They're just so beautiful. I've got to the point though where I've not got anything to put in them haha. I'm just using them as display pieces now! This beautiful suitcase has a pretty pink Parisian design and was just £3.99!

What do you think of my jewellery finds? Have you found any jewellery bargains recently? xo

September Favourites

I feel like September went by in the blink of an eye, how about you? Anyway, it's time for my monthly favourites! Unlike last month, where I didn't really have any favourites (and therefore didn't do a post) in September I had quite a few!

First up we have the Go Smile Teeth Whitening System. I actually first came across this after watching one of Tanya Burr's videos. I have wanted to have my teeth whitened for a while now, but just couldn't justify the three hundred or so pounds it costs at the dentist! Instead I picked up this kit from Cosmetics Now. After being so sceptical about the results it'd produce, I have to say I am so, so impressed! My teeth are significantly whiter after completing the seven day course (two capsules a day). Along with the fourteen capsules they also supply with you with six extra (three days worth) so you can top it up when you feel like it! If you want me to do a full review let me know and I'll tell you all about my experience using it. :)

Next up we have the Rich & Foamess body wash from Soap and Glory. This smells absolutely delicious! It contains Almond and honey milks, along with oat extracts and just has the most lovely scent. It is also really creamy and 'foamy' as the name suggests. I love the pump bottle which is so very useful in the shower. It is probably my favourite ever S&G product...and that's a big statement to make!

It's unlike me two be liking two shower products, but I simply had to include the Nivea in-shower body moisturiser in my favourites. If like me you do not have time to apply body lotion every day, then this is perfect. It works as a skin conditioner. Basically after you have used your shower gel and rinsed, you apply this to your skin and then rinse it off. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturised. I love it! The only thing I'm not keen on is the scent...but I can get over that if it means have soft skin in a matter of seconds haha.

The stippling brush was the first ever makeup brush I bought from the Real Techniques collection. Whilst I loved it at first, as soon as I bought the core collection, I started using the buffing brush to apply my foundation instead. After months of using the buffing brush I've had a change of heart yet again and have decided I like the stippling brush much better! I hate caking my face in foundation and love that this just gives a light coverage. I would use the word flawless, but my skin is rarely worthy of that word haha! I find that certain brushes work better with certain foundations and the stippling brush seems to be working really well with the No 7 Essentially Natural foundation that I'm currently using.

Finally we have the L'Oreal Super Liner Blockbuster. In all honesty it took a long while for me to fall in love with this product. When I first bought it, for some stupid reason I didn't realise how chunky it was. I thought I was picking up the thinner version, but I decided to persevere with it anyway. Whilst you can get a really chunky line with it (not a look I've gone for since I was like 16 / 17), you can also get a much thinner line (using the tip) and the perfect cat eye flick. I've been doing cat eyeliner and flicks for years so I don't *usually* find it too difficult, but using a 'marker pen' style eyeliner  like this makes it even easier to draw on. I find that the L'Oreal Super Liner Blockbuster has great lasting power, however it will smudge if you accidentally rub your eye...hello panda.

What products have you been loving recently? Do we share any of the same favourites? xo

Modcloth: Uniquely You

Modcloth Uniquely You campaign

Many regular readers will know that every now and then I get a little addicted to making moodboards, so when an email popped into my inbox asking if I wanted to take part in the Modcloth Uniquely You campaign, I simply couldn't resist! Each blogger taking part this week has been given the 'Mint Cute Dress' to style with up to seven other items from Modcloth.

I was so pleased to see that the mint cute dress was the item we were styling as I knew I could create a fresh and feminine moodboard full of dainty delights. My favourite item has to be the postcard clutch bag. I think you'll agree that it adds a little charm and character to the whole outfit! I also love the cats eye sunglasses and dainty floral pearl earrings which add a touch of glamour.

What do you think of my entry? Do you like the theme I have chosen? Let me know in the comments below!

PS, It's my birthday tomorrow YAY!
