Social Like Mug review - the perfect stocking filler!

Oh tea, how I love thee. Nothing can quite beat a cup of tea when you come in from the cold winter weather! As a big tea drinker, I was absolutely thrilled when I was sent this awesome Social Like tea mug* to review from I Want One Of Those. I absolute love the design with the 'like' symbol. The mug is average size, made from porcelain and is dishwasher safe. What better way to show your appreciation for tea and social media! There's also a version for coffee addicts (which I could also label myself too).

I think mugs like this make the perfect stocking fillers for family members. As soon as my dad and my boyfriend saw I had this mug, they asked if they could have it to take to work, so I think it is fair to say that I am going to lose this mug to one of them! Mugs also make the perfect secret santa gifts for work colleagues. I Want One Of Those have a wide range of mugs with quirky designs for you to choose from, priced between £5.99 and £11.25. They also currently have a two mugs for £12.00 offer on so be sure to check that out! I have my eye on this adorable pug mug which I think a lot of you with love too!

Lush Magic Wand Bubble Bar review & demo

If you love Lush's best-selling Snow Fairy shower gel, then you will absolutely adore the Magic Wand bubble bar. As soon as I spotted them in the Christmas section on the Lush website, I knew I had to get my hands on one! So off I popped into the Nottingham Lush store, where a lovely lady greeted me with a smile and took me straight over to the pile of Magic Wands. I ended up picking up two wands as I knew my mum would be equally as excited by their obvious cuteness and heavenly candy scent.

I had very high expectations of the Magic Wand bubble bar and I have to say it didn't disappoint at all. As you can see in the image below, the wand magically produces beautiful pink water and mountains of candy-scented, fluffy bubbles. I only had to swirl the product around the bath a few times, whilst the water was running and I ended up with way more bubbles than I usually get with other bubble bath products! Although the water is really pink, it doesn't stain your bath, so there's no extra cleaning required.

I can't even describe how amazing the Snow Fairy scent is. You just have to try it yourself. I am guessing that it won't be to everyone's taste as it is extremely sweet, but if you love the smell of bubblegum, candy floss and sweeties, you'll adore the scent of the Magic Wand bubble bar. Along with the cute design and amazing scent, I also love the fact that it is a reusable bubble bar. I have already used my bar five times and it it still all in one piece! Once I have got the desired amount of bubbles, I simply place the bubble bar on a pretty little plate on the side of the bath, ready for next time.

Because I'm a little geeky I thought I would show you a short demo to show just how lovely the Magic Wand is...

The Magic Wand bubble bar is priced at £4.95 and can be purchased in store or online. I think £4.95 is very reasonably priced, especially if you consider how many baths you will get out of it. Cost per use people, cost per use!

Have you tried this bubble bar before or picked up any of the other Christmas products from Lush? Let me know in the comments below - I'd love some recommendations. xo

Stocking Filler Ideas #1

I don't know about you, but some of my favourite presents to shop for are stocking fillers! I love picking up little bits and bobs to pop inside my friends and family's stockings. Today I have a few fantastic stocking filler ideas to show you from Find Me A Gift. Take a look and see what you think...

If you know someone that loves nail art then why not treat them to a set of stylish nail wraps? Find Me A Gift have so many different sets for you to choose from. I particularly love the chevron nails which came as part of the Beauty Rock Book Gift Set. For those who are into bold makeup looks, we have the Eye Rock Eye Tattoos. Again, these are available in a number of different designs and are great for giving your makeup look a unique edge.

Flip Flop Manicure Set* - £4.99

One of the things I love receiving as a stocking filler at Christmas is a cute little manicure set. I tend to lose the bits and pieces in my set over the year, so it's good to always get one in my stocking! This particular set includes four tools and comes in a travel-size flip flop shaped case. The super cute design also comes in other patterns - I particularly love the cherry and strawberry print sets on the Find Me A Gift website. For £4.99 I really don't think you can go wrong with a little stocking filler gift like this.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post! I have more coming soon. For now let me know what your favourite stocking filler ideas are in the comments below! :) xo

Urban Outfitters Nottingham Store Opening

Getting snap happy in the photobooth with Ellie, Sophia and Tori!

Love this outfit inspiration!

On Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited along to the Urban Outfitters Nottingham press event. Let me start by saying the much anticipated Urban Outfitters store does not disappoint! From their eclectic collections to their unique artwork, Urban Outfitters certainly know how to impress.

I really enjoyed browsing the new store, which is fantastically laid out. I loved everything from the perfectly styled mannequins to the artwork (created by local street artists) and the Sega Mega Drive, which can be found downstairs. Urban Outfitters were kind enough to offer us an item of our choice to take home. I chose a beautiful collared dress and then proceeded to pick up another two (which I bought myself) as I simply couldn't resist. I think I have a peter pan collar dress obsession, it's getting rather serious. Here's a sneak peek at a couple of the dresses I picked up. I will be sure to feature them in outfit posts soon, I have been so rubbish at outfit posts lately!

If you haven't already, I suggest that you definitely head to the new Urban Outfitters Nottingham store to see it in all its glory. I know that it is going to be so successful - you ought to have seen how many people were queuing up hours before the launch party started!

Thank you so much to Urban Outfitters for inviting me along to have a look around. I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Orly Digital Glitter nail polish review

If you are looking for the perfect nail polish for the festive season, then look no further than Orly’s Digital Glitter*. This stunning top coat is all you will need to give your nails sparkly goodness!

Looking closely at the hexagonal, square and micro-glitter pieces in Digital Glitter you can see a number of beautiful colours including bronze, silver, teal, fuchsia and red. I decided to apply it over a purple base, but I can imagine it looking even better over black (my black nail polish has mysteriously vanished).

Application and removal
Now, I’m not going to lie, I’m not usually the biggest fan of glitter nail polishes. Although they look extremely beautiful in the bottle, I often find that they are gloopy, thick and a pain in the bum to remove. Clearly I was over-generalising the glitter nail polish category, as Digital Glitter is nothing like this! It is easy to apply, letting you spread the glitter evenly over your nail and also dries extremely quickly. I also found that when it came to removing the polish, it came off much easier than other glitter polishes I have used in the past.

Grip top
Another thing I really like about Digital Glitter is the grip top, which most Orly polishes seem to have. I am quite clumsy so I need all the help I can get when it comes to applying nail polish. Orly’s grip top helps to improve the accuracy of application to the nail.

Whilst this polish isn’t the cheapest, priced around the £10.00 mark, you can tell it is from a more luxury nail polish brand as the quality exceeds that of cheaper high street brands. You also get a nice big bottle (18 ml) and as you only need to apply one coat, that should last you a long while!

Surreal collection
Digital Glitter comes from Orly's Autumn 2013 collection 'Surreal' which features other stunning polishes including Pixie Powder which is a shimmery lilac polish and Pink Waterfall which I would describe as a blue toned, bubble gum pink. If you want to treat yourself to Digital Glitter or one of Orly’s other nail polishes, head over to the HQhair website.

*This nail polish was kindly sent to me by HQHair to review. All opinions are my own.

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation review

When it comes to makeup, we all have at least one product that we struggle with and for me it’s foundation. Over the last few years I have used a number of different foundations but simply couldn’t find one that I liked. Despite picking up what I believed to be light shades, they would all end up being a little too dark and orangey. Basically I didn’t really realise how pale my skin was and I guess until that happened I wasn’t ever going to find the perfect shade.

That all changed when I picked up the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation to try. After testing out 010 light porcelain, I realised it was the perfect match for my colouring. Not only is the shade perfect for my skin tone, but the formula is a dream. In the past I have had trouble with foundations either looking too dewy or too drying and powdery, but for me the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation creates the perfect balance. According to Rimmel they use ‘Sapphire Radiance for a radiant glow’ and whilst I have no idea what that is, it sure does the trick.

What I love about this foundation is that although it makes your skin look healthy and radiant, it doesn’t look unnatural. It is very light on the skin, yet still offers fairly good coverage and lasts all day. Whilst it doesn’t make my skin look completely flawless (I do still have to cover up prominent blemishes with concealer) it does everything I would expect a good foundation to do!

On top of all the benefits I’ve explained, the Rimmel Foundation also has SPF 18 and a lovely fresh scent. I usually apply it with my Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge (review coming soon) and then go over it with my Real Techniques buffing brush. I am so, so happy to have finally found a foundation that 1) suits my pale skin tone and 2) leaves a natural yet radiant glow and for just £6.99 you can’t go wrong! xo

F&F Christmas and New Year Partywear

Limited edition shift dress £35.00 // Diamante Stilettos £25.00 // Woven top £14.00 // Spot Prom dress £25.00 // Pink Glitter clutch £12.50 // Floral Lace skater skirt £18.00 // Peter Pan top £18.00

Whilst I love being freelance, I do feel like I am missing out on the whole office Christmas party thing! Saying that, it doesn't really stop me treating myself to Christmas and New Year partywear. Although I don't really know what I am doing for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve yet, I am sure of the fact I will treating myself to an outfit or two from F&F's gorgeous partywear range! The items featured above are just some of my favourite picks from the range which will be available from selected Tesco stores and online from 1st December.

The item that first caught my eye was the beautiful pink glittery bag. Whilst I don't wear glitter on a regular occurrence, I love adding a little sparkle to my outfits during the festive season. The other item I adore is the spotty prom dress. I seem to be drawn to polka dot dresses and love this one in particular because it has the pretty netting overlay.

All in all I am very impressed with F&F's Christmas and New Year Partywear collection and look forward to browsing it in person when it hits the shops next month!

What do you think of the collection? Have you got your festive outfits planned already?
