Graze Nibble Box Review | Seek My Scribbles

I’ve always been interested in what Graze had to offer in the form of their inventive nibble boxes, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to take the plunge and sign up. I received my first box for free yesterday and I have to say I was very impressed!

What I got in my box:

·      Twist of black pepper popcorn
·      Dark rocky road
·      Smoky BBQ corn
·      Banana cake with an afternoon infusion

As someone who prefers savoury to sweet, it wasn’t surprising that the popcorn and the smoky BBQ corn were my favourite treats in the nibble box. The black peppercorn popcorn was easily the best popcorn I have ever tasted and the BBQ corn was delicious.

Try something new
One of the reasons I wanted to try Graze (aside from the fact you could get your first box for free) was because I wanted to try out snacks that I probably wouldn’t usually pick up in the supermarket e.g. fruity treats. As a vegetarian I’ve always eaten plenty of vegetables but fruit has just never been something I’ve liked very much. In this box I received Dark Rocky Road and whilst it did have dark chocolate buttons (yum) and pecan nuts (they were ok) it also included cranberries. Whilst my taste buds weren’t screaming 'these are amazing' at the same time they didn’t find them icky, so I’m hoping there’s still hope for fruit and I to be friends yet.

Rate Graze snacks
What I think’s really cool about Graze is that you can rate their snacks online. This means that if you don’t particularly like something you can ‘bin’ it and they won’t send it again. On the other side of the scale, if you love something or are eager to try it you can mark it as ‘love’ and ‘send soon’ so Graze can get a better idea of your taste and know what to hand-pick for your box. It’s all very personal and I like it!

Now I’ve waffled on I’ll get to the good bit and tell you how you can get your free Graze box! All you need to do is click on the banner below and sign up. You will need to put your card details in, but if for one reason or another you don’t want to carry on after your free box you can simply cancel your subscription. I honestly thought I’d just get my free box and call it quits but I liked this one so much that I am going to keep it up and see how it goes for a while.
I also have a friend code you can use 'GLTGW5RRB' to get your 1st, 5th and 10th Graze box for free. You can choose how regularly you receive your boxes and opt to postpone boxes if you're going on holiday. Graze will send you an email when your box is on your way and your postman or postwoman will pop it through your letter box. You can also have them delivered to your work place, which is bound to make all of your colleagues super jealous mwahahaha. Anyway if you decide to sign up, I'd love to know what you think so be sure to comment below and link me to any of your Graze box posts.

Bank Holiday | Outfit Post

Faux leather jacket - Topshop // Stripy dress - Primark // Bag - Radley // Boots - New Look
I hope everyone had a lovely bank holiday weekend! I caught up with some of my best friends over a glass of wine Saturday evening, spent Sunday marathoning American Horror Story (season 2) and then went out for a yummy meal at Pizza Express with James yesterday. Unfortunately the weather wasn't as great as the previous weekend, so the black tights and faux leather jacket have made a re-appearance! Oh well, at least I got to wear one of my favourite summer dresses - a lovely stripe and floral number from Primark.

What did you get up to over the bank holiday?

The Body Shop Strawberry Set

Recently I have been loving The Body Shop's strawberry range. This beautiful selection of products was given to me by my boyfriend's parents and boy was I happy!
In the set, I received a Strawberry shower gel, body polish, body butter, lip balm and eau de toilette. I have been using the products for the last few weeks and absolutely love them all. I was surprised by how much I liked the Strawberry Body Polish, as I'm usually put off by the film they leave on the skin. This body polish was completely different though; it lathered up like a soap, gently exfoliated the skin and left it feeling soft but not 'falsely smooth' if you know what I mean?
The stand out product in this set for me has to be the Strawberry Body Butter. God knows why I haven't tried this product before now - it's like heaven in a tub! Like the name suggests, it has a buttery texture and a beautiful sweet strawberry scent. It soaks in really quickly and leaves the skin feeling soft for a long, long while. I love using it in the evening, after I've had a bath, as the next morning my skin always feels amazing. The scent is really long-lasting too! I was so impressed that I went round my house asking members of my family to 'smell my arm' - it was that good!
The Strawberry lip balm, shower gel and eau de toilette are all really lovely too. I tend to use the lip balm before I apply my daily lipstick to smooth and nourish my lips and the eau de toilette is perfect for spritzing myself with on 'home days' when I don't want to use my more expensive perfumes.
If you love strawberry scented products, you can't go wrong with any of these. I can't find the exact gift set I received on The Body Shop website, but you can definitely buy all of the products separately or as part of other strawberry sets. I think this strawberry gift set would make the ideal gift for any lovely lady out there. The fact that The Body Shop does not test on animals also gives them two big thumbs up from me!
Have you tried any of the Strawberry products from The Body Shop?

Anchor Necklace - ASOS // Lilac Structured Handbag - River Island // Green Collared Dress - Lavish Alice
Knotted Midi Rings - Miss Selfridge // Jewelled Gold Sandals - New Look
With summer on its way I thought it was about time I refreshed my wardrobe, so I've been on the hunt for a few new seasonal staples. Whilst doing a little online window shopping, I came across this beautiful green skater dress from Lavish Alice. I don't normally wear green, but this shade is just so pretty and I love the crisp white collar. The gold plated anchor necklace from ASOS would look lovely peeping out from underneath.

A couple of weeks ago the lovely Donna from Polkadot Pink blog posted a link to this River Island lilac handbag on Twitter and I instantly fell in love with it! The pastel purple colour is gorgeous and I love the purse-like clasp. River Island also have a similar bag in mint green, which is equally as pretty.

I don't know what it is about midi rings but I love them! These knotted midi rings have a really simple design and come in a pack of three. I tend to only wear one midi ring at a time, so I think I'd just match the metal colour to whatever other jewellery I was wearing. I don't like mixing metals!

I'm not normally fond of sandals but this year I'm making it my mission to find a pair I actually like. When browsing the New Look website (my go to place for shoes) I came across these beautiful gold jewelled sandals and think they might be 'the ones.'

What's currently on your fashion wishlist?
Are there any highstreet / online stores really standing out for you at the moment?

Reclaimed Vintage | Outfit Post

Off the shoulder top - Boohoo // Reclaimed Vintage skirt - ASOS // Pointed heels - New Look // Cats eye sunglasses - Zara // Clutch bag - New Look

We were treated with some delightful weather in Nottinghamshire over the past few days so I thought it would be the perfect time to snap one of my favourite 'going out' outfits. If you saw my last outfit post, you will know that this reclaimed vintage skirt is one of my favourites. This time I'm wearing the purple floral pattern (my favourite of the two) and decided to forgo the tights since the sun was paying a rare visit! Sticking with the floral theme, I thought these beautiful flowers growing in our garden would make the perfect addition to my post.

Favourite Blogs #1

I decided to take a couple of days off blogging last week as I was super busy and needed time to refresh my brain and gather inspiration for new posts. I never want to just post for the sake of it, so if I have a day when I am all blogged out (after writing posts for other people) I'd much rather leave my own blog for a few days until I am feeling inspired again! Speaking of inspiration, I thought I would start a new little series where I share some love for my favourite blogs. I hope you enjoy my recommendations and find some new reads a long the way!

A Little Boat Sailing
I have been following Amy's blog, A Little Boat Sailing, for a little while now and I feel like it is constantly going from strength to strength. Amy's photography is always on point and I love how she takes the time to write really in-depth product reviews. Amy has a real passion for skincare, as is shown in her recent Facial Cleansers post where she talks through some of her favourite cleansers and how she incorporates them into her morning and evening routines.

Frock Me I'm Famous
Hayley's blog Frock Me I'm Famous is one of those blogs that constantly has me craving something new, whether it's a new makeup item or a holiday in the sun! I really enjoyed Hayley's recent Thailand travel series where she shared photos and thoughts of the places she visited, holiday outfit posts and travel hints and tips. If you are planning a trip to Thailand (or anywhere for that matter) in the near future, I highly recommend having a read of Hayley's blog.

Vivianna Does Makeup
If I had to pick just one YouTuber to watch for the rest of time it would be the lovely Anna of Vivianna Does Makeup. I adore her blog as much as her YouTube channel and feel like I can almost hear her talking when reading her posts! Although I enjoy all of Anna's beautifully written posts, one of my recent favourites was her beauty hacks post. Who knew a spoon could help you create a cat eye flick? I certainly didn't! Also if you are new to blogging or just want to brush up on your skills, I highly recommend watching Anna's Guide to Blogging and Vlogging video series which she made in collaboration with Lily Pebbles.

Little Winter
This is simply one of the sweetest and most beautiful blogs you'll ever come across. I absolutely love reading Katy's life lately posts where she tells stories of her Little Winter family's adventures and always find myself adding items to my wish list upon viewing her outfit posts. If you are looking for a truly unique fashion and lifestyle blog with character, put Little Winter at the top of your reading list. Oh and look out for Little R, Katy's cheeky and oh-so-adorable kitty cat who likes to make an appearance on the Little Winter blog every now and then.

The Magpie Girl
The Magpie Girl is one of the first blogs I ever read and it is still a firm favourite of mine to this day. I absolutely love Vicki's outfit posts and have also been enjoying the homeware posts that she has recently introduced to her blog. Vicki has very recently got married and being the nosey person I am, I simply can't wait to see her posts about her special day, which I am sure was beautiful!

White Wash | Summer Fashion

Cropped white jumper - £18.00 // White Prom Dress - £18.00 //Organza sheer white spotted top - £20.00
White Jacquard Bomber Jacket - £28.00 // Limited Edition Long Line Jacket - £40.00 // White Jeans - £18.00

White will be a huge fashion trend this summer, so I thought I would share a little wardrobe inspiration from one of my favourite brands, F&F. Straight at the top of my wish list is the white prom-style dress featured above. It reminds me of this dress, which was one of my wardrobe staples a couple of summers ago.

I also really like the boxy bomber jacket and chic long-line coat, which will both add a touch of sophistication to any outfit this summer. Seeing as the weather is so temperamental here in Britain, layering is always a must and F&F have you covered with a gorgeous selection of white light knits.

What do you think of the White Wash trend? Is it something you'll be rocking this summer?

Pet post: Harringtons Dog Food review

My two dogs love their dinner time, nearly as much as walkies, so when Harringtons offered to send a bag of their Salmon & Potato complete dog food*, Jazz and Oby were more than happy to give it a go!

As you can see in the video above, they absolutely loved it! Oby even slid down onto the floor to get extra comfy, which is a sign that he’s enjoying his dinner. Whereas Oby tends to ‘wolf’ his dinner down quickly, Jazz savours every mouthful and therefore takes a good while to eat.

Harringtons dog food does not contain any artificial colours or flavours, dairy, soya or added wheat. It does however contain natural sources of vitamins, minerals and trace elements, making it super healthy for dogs. As well as containing salmon (a great source of protein), this particular dog food also contains yeast, to help maintain a healthy digestion and citrus extracts that help support a healthy immune system. It also has a balanced ratio of Omega 6 and 3 fats that help give dogs a glossy coat!

I like the fact that this dog food is made by a smaller company, based in North Yorkshire and that they take care in choosing the ingredients. The fact the food is made from natural ingredients must make it so much healthier for dogs than other foods on the market.

I will definitely be continuing to feed Jazz and Oby Harringtons dog food as it went down a treat! They have already tried the Turkey with Veg flavour and like it just as much. At just £3.28 for a 2kg bag, it is extremely affordable, especially compared to some of the other dog food brands.

Harringtons dog food is available from most supermarkets in the UK, as well as online retailers like Amazon. They have also recently launched their products in France. If you are a blogger with a doggy that fancies reviewing a bag of Harringtons, simply drop them an email and tell them I sent you.

Spring staple skirt outfit post

Faux leather jacket - Topshop // Speckled top - H&M // Reclaimed vintage skirt - ASOS // Juno bag - Bagable* // Boots - New Look

This reclaimed vintage skirt is one of my spring wardrobe staples. I love wearing it in the day with a vest top, oversized jumper and boots and in the evening with a crop top and heels. I like the style of the skirt so much that I also have it another pattern (this one) and I'm eyeing up the pink Hawaiian pattern for summer too!

When I was rummaging in my handbag drawer the other day, I came across this gorgeous Juno shoulder bag. I love re-discovering things that I'd forgotten about as it feels like you have been shopping, without actually spending any money! I decided to tuck the strap into the bag and turn it into a clutch. I love how the neon panel on the bag contrasts with the blue, black and grey colours in my skirt.

Oh I nearly forgot to mention the fringe! Yes I decided to brave it and get a full fringe cut in again, after being without one for a couple of years. 'Gap fringe' will once again become the bane of my life.

Just to let you know my giveaway has now ended. Congratulations to the winner, Jayne!
Thank you to everyone that entered!
Whether you are a new follower or an oldie (but goodie), I hope you continue to enjoy reading my posts.

Skincare saviours #1

My skin has been what can only be described as 'crappy' recently, but luckily it's on the mend thanks to these skincare saviours...

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo*
The only place where I seem to get spots these days is on my chin. I never used to get that many spots when I was younger, they all seem to have waited until now to appear...cheers for that spots. Anyway, after a horrible breakout I decided to give this sample of La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Duo a go. I had read so many good things about it (and the newer Duo+) so had high expectations and I am happy to say it worked like a charm.  It did an excellent job at soothing the skin, calming the irritation and clearing up the nasty spots. I am definitely going to buy the Effaclar Duo+ as I hear it's even better than the original!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion
Although I dislike the smell, the Tea Tree night lotion is a product I use on my skin every night. It is designed to improve the appearance of blemish damaged skin. The only places where I have blemishes is on my chin, but I still apply this all over my face as I love how refreshing it feels! I definitely think this product is working for me, as despite all of the breakouts I have been having on my chin, there isn't any obvious scarring. I also find a little goes a long way with this product, which is great because it means it'll last so much longer.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Mask
Another fantastic product from The Body Shop is the Vitamin E Moisture Mask. I am a big fan of the Vitamin E range, so it was no surprise that I took an instant liking to this product. You simply pop it on your face after you have cleansed, leave it on for ten minutes (so it can work it's magic) and then simply 'tissue it off.' It soothes and hydrates the skin making it feel oh-so-nourished. If you are looking for a moisturising face mask, give this one a go. If you want to give it a try, without buying the full sized version (£12.00), you can pick up a sample sachet for just £1.50!

Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful Rejuvinating Eye Cream
Even though I don't think I need to use anti-ageing products at the age of twenty three, I do use an anti-ageing eye cream. This is not why I picked it up though. I actually picked it up because it claimed to fight dark circles and under eye puff. Being quite pale skinned, under eye circles are something that I notice, but I have found that this eye cream works a treat! I simply dot it under the eyes and very gently pat it into the skin every morning and night.

At £14.00 it is not the cheapest eye cream available (nor is it the most expensive) so if you are just looking for an eye cream to keep the delicate skin around your eyes healthy and hydrated, you will easily find a cheaper alternative. However if you are looking to banish dark circles, I highly recommend giving the Soap and Glory eye cream a go! Obviously I can't speak for it's 'youthful rejuvenating' claim, as I'm still technically youthful...*winks*

My favourite pastel polishes for spring

Nottinghamshire, UK

Breakfast in Bed // Fiji // Blueberry Muffin // Ridley Road // Pink Veneer // Prickley Pear
If there is one trend that screams spring time, it's pastels. I particularly like wearing pastel colours on my nails throughout spring and summer so I thought I'd share a few of my favourites with you.

Mint green is one of my favourite polishes and I have not one, but two lovely mint green polishes in my collection. You may be surprised to hear that I don't own the bloggers' favourite Essie Mint Candy Apple. No, instead my favourites include Breakfast in Bed from the Rita Ora for Rimmel London collection and Ridley Road, a textured polish by Barry M. Speaking of Barry M, I also love their gelly nail polishes, with my favourite being Prickly Pear. The quality of Barry M polishes is up there with some of the more expensive brands and at £3.99 you really can't go wrong.

Another bloggers' favourite and a polish I personally adore is Essie Fiji. This is a lovely pale pink shade that looks oh-so-pretty on the nails. More recently I have been loving the Models Own hypergel collection, with the pink shade, Pink Veneer, being my favourite. This is more 'pink' than Fiji and also has a glossier finish, as you would expect from a gel polish.

Last but certainly not least is the beautiful Blueberry Muffin, another polish by Models Own. This lovely pastel blue shade is so wearable and is definitely up there as one of my all time favourites. It comes from the scented range, but I don't really know what that's all about as I don't think it smells any different!

So there we have my favourite pastel polishes for spring!
Do we share any of the same favourites?
What pastel nail polishes do you recommend?
