Worth the hype?

Maybelline Eye Eraser Concealer - £7.99 // Max Factor Creme Puff Blush (Nude Mauve) - £8.99
It's not very often that I give into beauty blogger hype! Even though I take interest in beauty products that are being raved about, I very rarely buy them myself but after hearing so many good things about the Maybelline Eraser Eye concealer and Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes, I simply couldn't resist trying them myself. But were they worth the hype?

I had very high expectations of the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer, so high in fact that I was initially a little disappointed. I think I was expecting it to get rid of my dark circles (which have been worse recently) completely, rather than simply helping to cover them up - probably because every beauty blogger under the sun seemed to be raving about it. After giving it the benefit of the doubt and continuing to use it, I've decided that I do actually quite like it. If applied immediately after moisturiser, it definitely helps to cover the dark circles and brighten the under eye area but don't be fooled into thinking it's a miracle worker!

For some reason when the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush arrived, I didn't think much of it. The packaging looked a bit naff and the colour a little dull - probably because I'd chosen the plainest shade 'Nude Mauve.' However upon trying it I was very pleasantly surprised! The blush is a beautiful peachy nude shade that adds a subtle yet beautiful wash of colour to the cheeks. It's definitely on the shimmery side, so I don't usually bother using a highlighter with this. To me it's a blush and highlighter all-in-one. I've been using this blush every day and it's quickly become one of my go-to spring makeup staples - so this one is definitely worth the hype!

Have you tried either of these makeup items? What did you think of them?

Ooh I bought the Max Factor blush (also in nude mauve) last week and I love it. I think it looks shimmery and summery but without being OTT. Its also finally a shade that suits me - it's not too pink or rouge, more natural which works with my pale skin tone! Great review Meg xxx

  3. I really like a few of the Max Factor blushes however I thought there were a few duds in the range too. I really love the Maybelline concealer. I use it on top of a corrector like Benefit's Erase Paste and it works perfectly for me :) xx

  4. I love both of these products, though I do agree with you that the Max factor blush's packaging is a little dull!

  5. I know they could have made it so pretty! I don't think £8.99 is exactly cheap for 'drugstore' makeup so it would have been nice for them to put a little more effort into it. Having said that the actual blush is definitely worth the money! xo

  6. Ooh I've not tried the Erase Paste - I'll have to look into that as I think I could do with a corrector! xo

  7. Such a pretty name for a blush! I'll have to take a look at that one :) xo

  8. It's really pretty isn't it? I like that it's really natural! Thanks Laura xo
