6 Inspirational Quotes I love & live by

Inspirational quotes are like Marmite, you either love or hate them but personally I love a good quote and even have a whole board dedicated to 'Words I like' on Pinterest. I guess this post is a little throwback to a similar post I created at the beginning of 2015, featuring some of my favourite quotes for the New Year. A lot has happened since then. My life has changed in so many different ways. Here are the quotes I love and live by, today, in 2018...

1. 'Embrace uncertainty. Some of the most beautiful chapters in our lives won't have a title until much later.' I think it's easy to fall into the trap of labelling parts of your life and having a set idea of how it should go. The problem with that is during periods of uncertainty, you feel like you're doing something wrong or failing. I know - I've been there. But really so many beautiful, unexpected things can come out of uncertain times.

2. 'Be inspired by other's success not defeated.' I'm guilty of comparing myself to others and feeling like my achievements aren't as great as theirs but it's such a silly thing to do and gets you nowhere. Instead of feeling defeated, my new approach is to be inspired. If they can do it, why can't I? This is something that's occurred to me recently with wanting to be a work from home mum. Others manage it with hard work (and I really admire them for it), so there's no reason I can't find a way to do it too.

3. 'I believe that God sent you into my life...' (see full quote above) I'm a 'everything happens for a reason' kind of person and whilst I don't talk about religion openly very often, I have my own beliefs in God. I remember reading this quote and just thinking '...that's Arthur.'

4. 'She didn't need to be saved. She needed to be found and appreciated for exactly who she was.' Here's where I'd insert the celebration hands emoji if I could. And that's all I need to say on the matter!

5. 'You're going to be happy said life, but first I'll make you strong.' If I've learnt anything it's that sometimes you have to go through tough times that make you stronger and build on your character, before finding your happiness.

6. 'Celebrate every tiny victory.' Back in 2016 I wrote a post all about my small victories as a parent and how they may be insignificant to others but to me, worth celebrating. It's still something I do today and hope to teach Arthur to do the same. The idea of a tiny victory will vary from one person to the next but each is important and worth celebrating!

Do you have a favourite quote or words that mean something to you?
